Job Overview:

Schedule:

A standard work week is from Monday through Friday, but there may be a need for overtime or weekend work

Hours:

6:00am-2:30pm

By using specialized equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, the Distribution Specialist must complete material movement tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Opt for vending and cold drink dispensing machines that are ideal for meeting the sales needs.
  • It's crucial to utilize protective wrapping and attach the proper documentation (STO) to guarantee the safety and security of all outbound loads.
  • Support CCCI's delivery operations by participating in the loading and unloading of trailers in accordance with SOPs. Keep track of inbound and outbound loads and update SAP and CONA via handhelds to maintain accuracy and accountability for the territories serviced by the Regional Operation Center.
  • Ensure a safe and organized environment by prioritizing safety and housekeeping tasks such as conducting pre- and post-trip checks, reviewing daily documentation, and managing clutter in the workplace.
  • Assist with a range of tasks as directed, such as setting up equipment, decommissioning and discarding surplus equipment, and maintaining the outside area.
  • Employ a switching technique to move pup and 53' trailers to the loading area as needed.

  • Demonstrated expertise on crucial safety concepts, including effective lifting techniques and the use of personal safety equipment.
  • Proficient in the operation of single-wide forklifts, adept at enhancing productivity in cramped workspaces.
  • Basic pallet-jack skills.
  • Basic mechanical prowess and simple handling of tools.
  • Knowledgeable in handling different rudimentary machines.
  • It is imperative to read and adhere to written SOPs and instructions.
  • Record task completion and results using traditional or digital documentation.
  • Follow verbal instructions.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • An all-encompassing knowledge of the things that foster productivity.
  • The ability to analyze the process of order building, optimize the loading workflow, and select the most efficient pick and load path.
  • Efficient system management is achieved through the ability to multitask and oversee several processes concurrently.
  • The ability to meticulously count incoming shipments and compare them with the manifest is a valuable skill.
  • Loading trucks accurately according to documentation guidelines consistently.
  • Has a gift for conveying messages in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Candidates must possess the resilience to work efficiently in harsh environments, including extreme temperatures, excessive noise, hazardous floors, and shattered glass.
  • It is possible that, from time to time, one may need to lift weights above the 25-pound limit, although this is not a common occurrence.
  • Persistence in maintaining a seated position for extended durations.
  • Recurrent entering and exiting of a forklift.
  • Managing the opening and closing of truck dock doors is a critical aspect of logistics operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Many training programs offer forklift and pallet jack certification to improve workplace safety and meet industry standards.
  • Switcher operation certification.
  • The attainment of a Class A commercial driver's license might be obligatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous encounters in logistics management.
  • Weight distribution should be considered when selecting the type of trailer to use. Certain trailer types are better suited for heavier or bulkier cargo while others are more appropriate for lighter, more delicate loads.

Work Environment:

  • An area that lacks temperature regulation and is burdened with high noise levels, incorporating both high heat and low cold temperatures.
