With the help of powered industrial equipment, Warehouse Equipment Operators handle the transportation and placement of cases and pallets into their assigned areas in the warehouse.

The efficient rotation of inventory is employed by Warehouse Equipment Operators, who prioritize the use of the oldest items first.

In addition to these duties, the Warehouse Equipment Operators need to understand and follow all warehouse safety protocols. This includes wearing proper safety equipment, such as hard hats, goggles, and safety shoes, and following all other safety measures that help prevent accidents.

Additional Information

Workers in the Department of Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse work in an environment where temperatures can stay between 28 and 35°F for an extended period of time.

For extended time spans, employees at the Produce Warehouse can expect to work in a wet environment with temperatures fluctuating between 35° to 55° Fahrenheit.

A considerable time-frame at the Frozen Food Warehouse could witness temperature variations ranging from zero to 20 degrees below zero.

One of the requirements for the role of a return center worker is the capacity to withstand different weather conditions for a considerable length of time.

The job of fleet maintenance requires individuals to be able to work in varying weather conditions for extended time periods.

Other Compensation Information

• Depending on experience and applicable skills, the starting pay may be set at $1.00 to $2.00 above the minimum range of pay
• To qualify for a night differential payment of $.75 per hour, associates must have a regular work schedule that includes hours between midnight and 3:00 AM, with the exception of shifts that begin at 3:00 AM or end at midnight.
• Regularly scheduled associates who work in the Frozen Food freezer area are eligible to earn an extra $.50 per hour known as the freezer differential.
• A $2.00 per hour extra wage, known as a weekend differential, is given to associates for the work rendered between 12:00 a.m. Saturday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Year End Bonus

November brings with it a Holiday Bonus for associates as a token of appreciation from Publix for their efforts during the calendar year.

The first year of uninterrupted employment is rewarded with a bonus payment, equating to 15 hours of pay, while the second year will see the bonus amount increase to one week's salary, as long as the employee remains employed up until the time of payment issuance.

The bonus allocated for upcoming years is calculated as an amount equal to two weeks' wage.

• obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before his or her start date in the position)
• ability to lift a minimum of 67 pounds (85 pounds in Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse)
• ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• ability to bend, stoop, and twist
• ability to operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of his or her body exposed outside of the operator compartment
• ability to stack product of varying weights
• ability to work under strict time requirements
• ability to read, write, and identify and verify numbers
• ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
