Job Overview:

Schedule:

Generally, work is scheduled for Monday through Friday, but overtime on weekends or beyond may be required at times

Hours:

6:00am-2:30pm

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for material movement throughout the facility and grounds, and must be adept at operating forklifts and pallet jacks in order to do so.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Choose vending and cold drink dispensing systems that can fulfill the sales demands.
  • To ensure that all outbound loads are secure and safe, it's important to use protective wrapping as needed and attach the appropriate documentation (STO).
  • To support CCCI's delivery activities, assist in the loading and unloading of trailers while adhering to SOPs. Keep track of inbound and outbound loads and maintain accuracy by using handhelds to update SAP and CONA. This ensures accountability for the territories serviced by the Regional Operation Center.
  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace by undertaking safety and housekeeping duties such as conducting pre- and post-trip assessments, reviewing daily logs for errors, and tidying up regularly.
  • Follow various instructions and help out with the movement and setup of equipment, which could range from arranging to disposing off equipment or maintaining the yard.
  • Utilize a switching machine to transport 53' and pup trailers to the dock as necessary.

Skilled individuals possess the ability to apply their knowledge to practical tasks or to carry out a particular set of actions with a high level of proficiency

  • Skillful implementation of fundamental safety principles, such as the correct way of lifting heavy objects and the observance of appropriate protective clothing.
  • Proficient in the operation of single-wide forklifts, adept at enhancing productivity in cramped workspaces.
  • Basic pallet-jack skills.
  • Elementary expertise in machinery and straightforward utilization of tools.
  • Skilled at multitasking by operating multiple unsophisticated machines.
  • One should carefully follow documented procedures or instructions to ensure success.
  • Use written or computerized forms to log activities and outcomes.
  • Follow verbal instructions.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • A thorough understanding of the variables that influence productivity.
  • Competency to evaluate the order building process, streamline the loading workflow, and select the most efficient path for pick and load.
  • A crucial aspect of supporting system efficiency is the ability to manage several processes concurrently.
  • Maintaining the ability to count received items and cross-check against the manifest with accuracy is crucial.
  • Loading trucks with a remarkable consistency while adhering to documentation standards with precision.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Suitable candidates must possess the skill to work in a variety of challenging environments, such as high and low temperatures, noise pollution, slippery floors, and shattered glass.
  • On occasion, it may be necessary to lift weights that are heavier than 25 pounds, albeit this arises rarely.
  • The ability to tolerate extended periods of sitting without discomfort.
  • Continual transitioning on and off of a forklift.
  • Managing the opening and closing of truck dock doors is a critical aspect of logistics operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Employers are legally required to ensure their workers have the necessary certification and training for forklift and pallet jack operation.
  • Switcher operation certification.
  • The attainment of a Class A commercial driver's license might be obligatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in the logistics sector.
  • It is crucial to understand the effects of cargo placement and weight distribution on the handling and stability of the truck and trailer while in motion.

Work Environment:

  • A space that is characterized by a lack of temperature control that encompasses both loud and quiet environments, where temperatures fluctuate between extremes of hot and cold.
