Other Compensation Information

• In-training workers will earn $19.48 per hour and the duration of the training session will differ according to individual performance in terms of productivity, safety, and quality standards.After training, compensation varies by output and the standard base pay rate is $24.35 per hour. Top performers can exceed $30 per hour.
• There is a night differential program available that rewards employees with an additional $.75 per hour.
• If you work in a freezer, you can get a differential of $0.50 per hour.
• The company provides $2 per hour extra payment for working on weekends.

What you'll do

You hold the key to your earnings as a Distribution Center Order Selector. The amount you can earn each week depends on how many orders you can process in a swift and secure manner. The average Publix Selector's productivity rate exceeds 100%, so that means you can earn more than a regular paycheck.

If you're a team player and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, then you'll fit right in as a selector at Publix. This role is instrumental in keeping our shelves well-stocked in all of our 1,200 store locations.

What you need to succeed

• be at least 18 years old
• work a rotating schedule which includes some weekends and holidays
• work fluctuating shifts, when needed
• select, lift, carry and stack product weighing
• 67 pounds for Frozen Foods and Produce
• 85 pounds for Boxed Meat/Dairy
• stand, bend, and stoop and do repetitive work for long periods of time
• operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside of the operator compartment
• perform job duties efficiently, accurately, and safely
• read, write, and identify and verify numbers
• interpret, understand, and follow instructions and
• Pass a Physical Agility Test, as applicable

Work Environment

The Department's Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse: Coping with Low Temperatures.

The Temperature Inside a Frozen Food Warehouse Could Stay as Low as Zero Degrees Fahrenheit and at Most Negative 20 Degrees Fahrenheit for a Prolonged Time.

The produce warehouse poses a particular set of demands for workers, such as the ability to endure a prolonged exposure to temperatures that can swing from 55° to 35° Fahrenheit, as well as working in a damp environment.
