Job Overview:
As part of their role, the Merchandise Handler is responsible for overseeing the smooth flow of inbound and outbound warehouse goods with maximum efficiency. Additionally, dock management and proper resource allocation are pivotal components of the Clerk's tasks. Documenting all records, logs, and reports with meticulous precision and communicating effectively with warehouse management and other departments are additional responsibilities of the Clerk.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The advanced capabilities of warehouse systems can help businesses stay on top of their inventory management needs, from processing incoming shipments to fulfilling customer orders
- The smooth functioning of a warehouse depends on an organised system which is supported by comprehensive reports on inbound and outbound shipments, dock management, stock availability, and yard maintenance, with adjustments made as required
- Engages with warehouse management, cross-functional teams, and external business partners to enhance productivity, oversee the precision of inbound and outbound shipments, regulate scheduling for deliveries, and allocate resources judiciously
- Maintains open communication channels with relevant stakeholders to ensure that they are aware of any issues or concerns arising from the logs and reports
- To achieve a tidy and secure warehouse and work area, it is necessary to comply with management's requests and undertake other duties, such as pallet construction
- May be required to fulfill other obligations as assigned
One's aptitude, competencies, and outstanding qualities within a particular field together forms their knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Familiarity with warehouse processes and systems is an essential knowledge area for logistics employees, as is the ability to use basic computer applications like Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Capability of working effectively in a quick-paced environment whilst repeatedly raising and walking with items of up to 30 lbs
- Being capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
- The capability to work efficiently with colleagues is a critical competency for any employee
- Efficient and reliable warehouse processes depend on the ability to effectively coordinate and organize activities within the facility
- Being versatile enough to accommodate varying job requirements and fulfill the minimum criteria of each job task
- Reading and comprehending instructions on a computer screen

Minimum Qualifications:
- The pursuit of a high school diploma or GED may require significant dedication and hard work, but the reward of academic accomplishment is unparalleled
- The skill set developed through one to three years of actual work experience
- Employees who have recently been hired are eligible to obtain a certification for a Pallet Jack, a type of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), within the first 30 days of their employment.
